Their Story

Biography

Daniel Keshi Bessey, widely known as DKB, is the Member of Parliament for Sege Constituency in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region. Elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 2024 general election, Hon. Bessey secured a resounding mandate of 18,718 votes — 58.75% of votes cast — in a contest that reaffirmed the NDC's stronghold in the constituency.

A grassroots champion at heart, Hon. Bessey built his public profile long before his entry into Parliament through sustained community engagement. He partnered with philanthropic bodies such as the Inspire Them Foundation to deliver free medical outreach services to communities including Afiadenyigba and Dorgobom, bringing essential healthcare to residents who had long been underserved. His tireless work in distributing educational support packages to over 300 Senior High School entrants and awarding scholarships to high-performing students demonstrated a deep commitment to the next generation of Sege's young people.

In Parliament, Hon. Bessey is a vocal advocate for the fishing and farming communities of the Ada coastline. He has championed clear regulatory frameworks to protect the Songor Lagoon from unregulated private exploitation, ensuring that the natural wealth of this iconic coastal resource remains a legacy asset for the people of Sege. His legislative agenda spans agricultural modernisation, clean water infrastructure, rural healthcare, and youth employment — reflecting the full spectrum of his constituents' aspirations.
